【創業二十年の歩みとこれから】 ２００１年７月１０日、京都の新京極三条のビルの５階に一軒のギャラリー・カフェがオープンしました。 「neutron（ニュートロン）」と名付けられたその場所では、新進気鋭の若手アーティスト・クリエーター達が自身のポートフォリオを登録し、初個展を経験し、次第に世に出るチャンスを掴み、研鑽を重ねました。 短期間にギャラリースペースの拡充・烏丸三条への移転を経て、２００９年には住空間とアートの接点として東京・南青山に「neutron tokyo」を出店（現・白白庵の建物）。 京都でのアートフェア企画・開催、国内外の様々なアートフェア・イベントへの参画を経て、２０１２年末にneutronのプロジェクトは終了。 ２０１３年から本社を東京へと移し、代表の石橋圭吾が新たに提唱する「JAPANESE HYBRID ART」を国内外に発信するギャラリーとして、現在の「白白庵」をスタート。 歴史大河漫画『へうげもの』（山田芳裕・講談社）のスピンオフ企画や、百貨店催事の企画運営などを手がけ、現在進行形の日本の美術・工芸・ものづくりを広く知らしめるアートイベント「天祭 一〇八」を浄土宗大本山・増上寺（東京・港区芝）にて開催（２０１３～２０１６）。 ２０１９年春にはギャラリーの建物を全館リフォーム工事の末、茶室やバーカウンターを備える現代数奇の一大拠点としてリニューアルオープン。 ２０２０年春には、世界中を覆う新型コロナウィルスの影響を受けて店舗営業を休止するも、総力を挙げてたった一ヶ月の製作期間でオンラインショップサイト《pakupakuan.shop》を発足させました。 京都と東京、美術と工芸、伝統と革新など、常に二つの視座を持ちながら時代の先端を走り続ける私達は、これからも日本の才能を世界へと発信してまいります。

【Progress until the 20th Anniversary】 On July 10, 2001, a gallery and cafe opened on the fifth floor of a building in Shinkyogoku-Sanjo, Kyoto. In the place named "neutron", up-and-coming young artists and creators registered their portfolios, experienced their first solo exhibitions, and gradually grasped the chance to be seen by the world, and continued their studies. In a short period of time, the gallery space was expanded and moved to Karasuma-Sanjo, and in 2009, the gallery "neutron tokyo" was opened in Tokyo (in the current PAKUPAKUAN building). After planning and organizing art fairs in Kyoto and participating in various art events, the "neutron" project came to an end at the end of 2012. In 2013, the head office was moved to Tokyo, and the current "PAKUPAKUAN" was started as a gallery to disseminate "JAPANESE HYBRID ART" advocated by ISHIBASHI Keigo. It has been involved in spin-off projects for the historical manga "Hyouge Mono" (TAMADA Yoshihiro, KODANSHA), planning and managing department store events, and organizing the "Tensai 108" event (2013-2016) at Zojoji Temple, the main temple of the Jodo sect of Buddhism, to publicize ongoing Japanese arts, crafts, and manufacturing. In the spring of 2019, after renovating the entire building of the gallery, it will be reopened as a major center equipped with a tea ceremony room and bar counter. In the spring of 2020, we suspended store operations due to the effects of COVID-19, which is sweeping the world, but launched an online store site in a month with all hands on deck. Kyoto and Tokyo, arts and crafts, tradition and innovation... We will continue to be at the forefront of the times with two perspectives, and will continue to send out Japanese talents to the world.

【企画趣意】 毎年恒例の人気企画「夏の宵茶会」は、昨年は新型コロナウィルス蔓延の影響を受けて開催できませんでした。 今年は創業二十周年の節目に特別企画として開催いたします。 昨年から発足させたオンラインショップサイトpakupakuan.shopと、実際のギャラリー店舗での展示販売の両構えで行う今回、参加出展者も実力派揃いで多士済々。 華道家・山田尚俊による装花が会場に祝祭のムードをふんだんに漂わせます。 タイトルの「The Phantom of the Tea Room」は「The Phantom of the Opera」（オペラ座の怪人）ならぬ「茶室の幻影」の意味。 四百年以上の時を経て醸成された茶の湯の文化を、現在から未来へ、日本から世界へと変換・発展させる白白庵ならではのバリエーション豊かな出品作品を揃えてお見せします。 日本が誇る建築物であり、歴史の中でのアートの価値付けの舞台としての「茶室」に潜む大きな可能性とロマン、それに取り憑かれた人々の夢と執念に思いを馳せます。 いつの時代も美を追求し、ドラマを生み出す人間の「業」こそが生きる力となる。 そう信じる私たちこそが、「茶室の幻影」なのです。

【Prospectus of this project】 The popular annual "Summer Night Tea Party" could not be held last year due to the spread of COVID-19, but will be held this year as a special event to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the company. The event will be held both on the online store site "pakupakuan.shop", which was launched last year, and in our actual store by appointments. The flower arrangement by YAMADA Shoshun, a flower arrangement artist, created a festive mood in the venue. The title "The Phantom of the Tea Room" means "the ghost of the tea room," like "The Phantom of the Opera. PAKUPAKUAN has been transforming and developing the culture of the tea ceremony, which has been nurtured over 400 years, from the present to the future, from Japan to the world. The exhibition will feature a rich variety of artworks and will remind us of the great potential and romance hidden in the tea room as a proud architecture of Japan and as a stage for attaching value to art, as well as the dreams and obsessions of those who became engrossed in it. In all ages, the "deed" of people who pursue beauty and create drama is the power of life. We who believe this are "The Phantom of the Tea Room.
